Hot & Crusty opened its first store in 1980 at this exact location on Sixty-third Street and Second Avenue. Over the next couple of years, the company opened more stores, building complete bakeries into each one. In 1994, the company granted licenses for the use of the “Hot & Crusty” name. This proved very successful and in 1997, a new company called Hot & Crusty Franchise Corp. was created to franchise new stores. To this end, a central baking facility was acquired in which all bread doughs and pastries are made. All baking is done on a European deck oven, in front of the customers, thus creating interest in the baking activity and enticing diners with a delicious baking aroma. Try ordering for yourself.

The food was good. Delivery was fast. They made a mistake and brought me cut bagels when I specified uncut, but I called and they brought replacements within 10 minutes. Thanks!

Not as good as Lenny's, but still good. The latte is my favorite.

Used to love it, but then they delivered a pizza that had clearly been prepared by a smoker because the crust stank of cigarettes.

Just ordered tonight, I ordered challah french toast with one egg. They sent me plain french toast made with white bread and no eggs. I called and after being on hold for 15 minutes they tell me they don't have anymore challah bread, they cant help me with the eggs, and if I want a return I have to call back tomorrow. Never ordering from here again.

I will never order from here again. They totally scammed me. I ordered online and they called me to say they didn't have the item I wanted. I told them to cancel my order then. They tried to convince me to just accept another item that was similar to the one I wanted. I clearly told them no, I would order from somewhere else, and please cancel my order and do not charge my credit card. He persisted with other menu options. I had to cut him off and firmly say NO to get him to stop. The guy finally said ok, then 30 minutes later their delivery guy shows up with food. I told him I cancelled my order and had already ordered from somewhere else. He was confused, poor guy, they made him walk all that way with some random food I didn't even want. THEN the next day I see they've charged my credit card. I had to call my bank and file a dispute to resolve this, all after the manager agreed on the phone to cancel my order and not charge my card. This is absolutely ridiculous and this place has officially lost my business.

First time I ordered from then the food never showed. Decided to try again (I should have known better) it took 60 minutes for two Egg sandwiches. This place takes way to long - not worth the wait.

We are usually huge fans of Hot & Crusty, but tonight I had to come on here and review right away....and unfortunately, it was because so many things were wrong. First, they called an hour after we had placed our order, saying they had run out of the soup we ordered and the cookie we ordered. I agreed to replacements and we waited another 1/2 an hour for the order to arrive...Well, it just arrived, and they neglected to include the bagel we had ordered and gave us the wrong cookie (which was a replacement to begin with..). We have been weekly orderers but I think we might not order for awhile now. This was a huge surprise and disappointment.

Lack of consistency in the quality of food. Today my turkey burger was hard as a rock and inedible. Manager was rude on the phone.
